It helped me to find a (hopefully) working solution for my Canon 5D Mark II. I use the camera with the WFT-E4 and I'm lucky with. I transfer all photos directly to my iPad 1 . I have min. 10 Hour full Power (with Kensington Powerpack). I don't use any additional GPS (now) but only "myTracks HD" from Dirk Stichling (http://www.mytracks4mac.com) on iPad and my Macbook Pro. I'm in the phase of testing and will let you know how it works. Maybe I will write it also in my blog. Thanks for this short article.
